Guardrails are installed in warehouses and outside construction areas as a high-visibility way to block off:
- Roof edges
- Skylights
- Conveyors
- Roof hatches
- Truck loading docks
- Mezzanines
- Elevated platforms and more
Guardrails can either be bolted to the floor or portable, with just a movable base with the blockades attached. They can be steel, aluminum, heavy plastic or other materials and are usually brightly colored to increase visibility.
